Goldenwood

This modest-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is wispy and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, gray-green leaves are needle-like with irregular edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Several large flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with gold petals and a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 24 petals. They are hardy.

It has a strong scent that smells like burning wood, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
