Golden Moss

This orange-yellow moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In heathlands.
It is big, growing up to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is very flimsy; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
