Amberwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 86 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, wonky trunk covered in silky, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is white with black speckles.

The thin clumps of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of clammy, miniature, long, narrow leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are grey on the sides and amber at the center.

In late summer it forms tiny, gold, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

Before maturity, it can grow 0 per day.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
