Blue Spine Trailing Succulent

This short caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is green, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid florescent blue spines. The twisting, light grey trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter at the top. Its pink-red branches trail down across the ground and start growing a quarter of the way up the stem.

The small amounts of wavy-edged, wispy leaves are a shade of pink-red that gradient shifts to light orange at the top. They are delicate, but do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid white petals decorated with purple dots and a cyan central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of many raised, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like cotton.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the silver flesh is rough, and the grey sap is thin.
