Pink-Red Stem Cactus

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is pink-red, and is covered in brittle cream spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 25 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are either turquoise or brown, with a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 30 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight bowl. It has a weak scent that smells like wet dog.

The cactus's skin is thin, the caramel flesh is slimy, and the light brown sap is thin.
