Magenta Flower

This big flower grows up to 3.6 feet (1.1 meters) tall. Its moss green stem is very thick and splits into 9 branching stems at the top, and the small, emerald leaves are sickle shaped with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

A single large flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 53 cm (20.9 inches) wide, with petals that are generally magenta; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 30 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight bowl. They are very delicate.

It has the faintest scent that smells like something putrid, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
