Bluebell Shrubs

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 128 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several wide, crooked stems covered in ridged, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of miniature, long, tapering, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are generally blue, hardy and fuzzy.

In early spring it produces a handful of small, peach flowers with sickle shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like fish.

The leaves are bland but very healthy.
