Blue?

This big fruit tree grows up to 36 feet (11.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 16 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale brown-grey.

The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of miniature, circular leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are vibrant blue and yellow.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, washed-out red blossoms with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like cheap aftershave.

In early autumn it produces tiny, triangular fruit. The smooth brown skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is bitter and savoury, and the crunchy aquamarine flesh is sweet and spicy and sticky. The bold orange seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
