Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In moorlands, In rainforests, and On trees.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly sturdy.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
