Blueleaf

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 33 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous flexible, straight stems covered in waxy, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are very long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, wispy, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either lime or green, with hazel lines, tough and smooth.

In mid-summer it produces hundreds of large, blue blossoms with V-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like blood.

In early autumn small oval fruits ripen. The leathery sky blue skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is spicy, and the very soft aquamarine flesh is sour and savoury and powdery. The beige seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.
