Emerald Capsule Moss

This moss green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs.
It is large, growing up to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is slightly delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release hundred of spores.
