Copper Fruit Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 56 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in hard, cracked, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is silver.

The tangled mess of branches are long and thick and are covered with copious amounts of giant, slender, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red or sky blue, with silver dots.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of tiny, muted yellow blossoms with long, narrow petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like apple.

In mid-summer it produces , triangular fruit. The sticky cream skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is salty, and the very soft peach flesh is slightly sour and juicy. The dark orange seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
