This pink-red moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On trees, In rainforests, and In moorlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly sturdy.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
