Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In damp forests, In marshes, and In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly flexible; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release hundred of spores.
