Coniapple

This big fruit tree grows up to 22 feet (6.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 17 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, ridged, black bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow-brown.

The branches are very short and slender and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, sickle shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are copper with crimson tips.

In early spring, it produces thousands of tiny, pink blossoms with asymmetrical petals. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like a man.

In early summer it produces small, pleated fruit. The sticky black skin is delicate and sour, and the very soft peach flesh is sweet and sticky. The silver seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
