Burgundy Willow

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 10 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous wide, twisting stems covered in fine, ridged, burgundy bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, needle-like, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are cream on the sides and cyan at the center, tough and crispy.

In mid-summer it produces hundreds of medium-sized, copper flowers with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like apple.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is bio-luminescent.
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
