Burgundy Grass

This modest-sized, burgundy grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The very thick stalks grow in small clumps that are resistant.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, purple spikelet.

During the early winter, it produces very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
