Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In marshes, and In heathlands.
It is big, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very rigid.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores.
