Caramelactus

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big caudiciform grows up to 101 feet (30.8 meters) tall. The thick stem is gray-green, and is covered in brittle white spines. It has a angular, stumpy, caramel trunk atop a wide mess of waxy, exposed roots. The branches are thick, gnarled and copper and are short, rigid and upright.

The tattered-edged, very thin leaves are generally caramel. They are delicate, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is very fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are magenta in the center, light grey in the middle and yellow at the edges grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 42 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the amber flesh is leathery, and the indigo sap is thin.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
