Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The narrow stem is silver, and is dotted with small grey spines. The lumpy leaves are solid crimson or bold blue, with azure edges. Handfuls of them grow on stumpy, red branches that are short stubs. The leaves are rigid, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very fast growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid cyan petals decorated with magenta dots and a muted green central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 5 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. It has a strong scent that smells like baby powder.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the vivid yellow flesh is rough, and the magenta sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It is bio-luminescent.
The trunk and branches are covered in large spikes.
