Caramel Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This huge leaf succulent grows up to 111 feet (33.8 meters) tall. The wide stem is silver, and is covered in dozens of rigid gold spines. The lumpy leaves are either caramel or red, with olive dots. Handfuls of them grow on thick, gnarled, lime green branches that are very long and slender. The leaves are rigid, but do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 19 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid vivid yellow petals and a black central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of many widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fermented fruit.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the dark brown flesh is sticky, and the silver sap is thin.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
