Copper

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 3 very narrow, elongated stems. Each stem is brown, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible pale green spines. The wedge-shaped body is lime green and slate, and is covered in large amounts of fine, orange, hair-like spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 35 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are copper at the sides and lime at the center, grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 15 petals. It has an intense scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.

The cactus's skin is tough, the magenta flesh is rubbery, and the lime sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
