Purple

This large flower grows up to 2.8 feet (84 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 7 and are thick and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems halfway up, and the miniature, pink-red leaves are sickle shaped with ripped edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

6 to 9 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 78 cm (30.7 inches) wide, with bold purple petals and a white central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of 10 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like meat, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird and is ignored by most insect species.
