Burgundy Vine

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 595 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, curved trunk covered in delicate, smooth, burgundy bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow.

The extensive patches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of leathery, large, wispy leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are slate on the edges and dark brown at the center.

In late summer it forms small, crimson berries.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
