Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In heathlands, In damp forests, and In rainforests.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very frail.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
