Black Moss

This black moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On trees, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly flimsy; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores.
