Caramel Fruit Tree

This big fruit tree grows up to 43 feet (13.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in cracked, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is white.

The numerous branches are very short and thin and are covered with small amounts of small, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are indigo and caramel.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, intense purple blossoms with shield-shaped petals. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like cheese.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, pleated fruit. The soft sky blue skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy amber flesh is sweet and syrupy. The bronze seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
