Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This giant shrub grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for around 97 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, straight stems covered in ridged, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are very short and thick with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, circular, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid red with blue edges, flimsy and clammy.

In late spring it produces handfuls of tiny, magenta flowers with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like mint.

It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
