Blueberry Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 25 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in thick, waxy, light brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow.

The branches are very short and thick and are covered with large amounts of small, very thick leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally black.

In early spring, it produces clusters of medium-sized, vivid blue blossoms with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like sweat.

In early summer it produces tiny, oval fruit. The leathery orange skin is tough and slightly sour, and the soft light grey flesh is sweet and spicy and oily. The muted red seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is frequently struck by lightning.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
