Lilac Vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 149 feet (45.4 meters) and growing as high as 113 feet (34.4 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 12 months for the pink-red stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are flat and wavy.

The very narrow and elongated, covered in fine hairs leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are slate and lime, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the vine produces dozens of giant lilac flowers.


It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It can survive a very long time without water.
