Copper-colored

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 95 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several very thick, wonky stems covered in thin, smooth, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of large, thick, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in orange, dark brown and amber varieties, robust and clammy.

In early summer it produces copious amounts of tiny, crimson flowers with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like fish.
