Caramel

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 193 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of flexible, angular stems covered in fine, ridged, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down to the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of huge, oval-shaped, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine on the edges and caramel at the center, light and smooth.

In early summer it produces several medium-sized, yellow flowers with pleated petals. They are very delicate and have no scent.

A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
