Azure

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 39 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow-brown.

The sparse amount of branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of huge, needle-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are azure and lime.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of large, green blossoms with V-shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a fairly strong scent that smells like vomit.

In mid-autumn it produces small, long, straight fruit. The rubbery purple skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft brown flesh is extremely sweet and dry. The light brown seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
