Blueberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large fruit tree grows up to 32 feet (9.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 22 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in thick, smooth, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale brown.

The branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, perforated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of moss green that gradient shifts to orange at the top.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, grey blossoms with 2 cylindrical shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like a woman.

In late autumn it produces very large, perforated fruit. The fuzzy pink skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy blue flesh is salty and dry. The slate seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is difficult to cut through.
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
