This moss green moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In bogs, On trees, and In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly resistant.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
