Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In damp forests, In rainy mountain ranges, and In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly flimsy.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
