Cheesebloom

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This big shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 22 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of wide, angular stems covered in very thick, ridged, burgundy and brown bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of miniature, finger-like, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of green that gradient shifts to pink at the top, rigid and smooth.

In early summer it produces dozens of medium-sized, violet flowers with 6 spiral shaped petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like cheese.


All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It blooms only at night.
The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
