Firebloom

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is very thick and splits into many branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the huge, orange-yellow leaves are perforated with toothed edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with deep red petals that gradient shift to white on the outer edge. The central disk is violet. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a weak scent that smells like ashes, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.
