Clinging Vinefern

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 11 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several flexible, wavy stems covered in smooth, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, sickle shaped, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally yellow, rigid and rough.

It produces balls of giant, brown flowers with spear shaped petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like onion. In late summer it forms medium-sizedlilac berries.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for making strong rope
