Emerald Flame Moss

This lime green or purple moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs, On trees, and In moorlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely durable; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores.
