Crimson Spiral Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly light; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
