Clinging Prism Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, curved trunk covered in hard, cracked, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The numerous branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of large, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in blue and magenta varieties.

In early spring, it produces clusters of small, copper blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have an intense scent that smells like alcohol.

In early autumn it produces small, prism-shaped fruit. The smooth blue skin is thick and spicy, and the soft azure flesh is sweet and syrupy. The silver seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
