Burgundy Giant Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In rainy mountain ranges.
It is colossal, growing up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly flimsy; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores.
