Cliffvine Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 82 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, dark green bark, and inside, the dense wood is black.

The small clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, wide leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are brown on the edges and lilac at the center.

In early spring, it produces lots of tiny, lime blossoms with wide petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like coconut.

In late summer it produces tiny, oval fruit. The soft olive skin is thick and salty and sour, and the crunchy turquoise flesh is sour and very juicy. The light brown seeds are small and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
