Azure Cube Cactus

This small cactus grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. It splits near the top to form 4 very narrow, elongated stems. Each stem is gray-green, and is covered in large amounts of rigid azure spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 12 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are silver in the center, sky blue in the middle and white at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 6 widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fish.

The cactus's skin is thick, the magenta flesh is smooth, and the orange sap is thin.
