Emerald Shield Moss

This moss green moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On trees, and In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is extremely durable.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
