Clinging Maple

This average-sized tree grows up to 21 meters (68.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 532 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in fine, waxy, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the dense wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of smooth, tiny, circular leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in magenta, peach and bronze varieties.

In late summer it forms large, slate, shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
