Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wonky trunk covered in ridged, light gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is light brown.

The small handful of branches are long and thick and are covered with large amounts of large, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are lilac and aquamarine.

In early spring, it produces thousands of large, washed-out orange blossoms with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an intense scent that smells like rainy days.

In early summer it produces tiny, long, tapering fruit. The hairy amber skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy orange flesh is sweet and savoury and syrupy. The black seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
