Copper Mountain Moss

This copper moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In rainy mountain ranges.
It is massive, growing up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very resilient.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
