Burgundy Heath Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In heathlands, and In bogs.
It is big, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is overwhelmingly light.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores.
